Patient question
I have been experiencing hormonal imbalance and menstruation issues for some time, and I have concerns about PCOS. My periods are very irregular, sometimes they are delayed by many weeks, sometimes they are very light or very heavy, and I cannot predict the cycle. I also notice other changes that worry me, such as unwanted hair growth, hair fall from the scalp, mood swings, feeling tired, and difficulty in managing my weight even though I try to eat healthy.
Because of these ongoing issues, I am concerned that I may have PCOS, which I have heard is a common cause of hormonal imbalance in women. I have also started to worry about how this might affect my future and my ability to get pregnant. I have concerns about pregnancy, whether hormonal imbalance and PCOS can make it more difficult to conceive, or if it can affect fertility in the long term.
I want to understand what is causing these symptoms, what tests I may need, and what lifestyle changes and treatment options can help me manage my hormones, regulate my periods, and protect my future reproductive health.
