Introduction
Dr. Munira Borhany MBBS, MCPS, FCPS, FRCP (Edin.) & FRCPath (UK), is a Consultant Haematologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician. At present, she works at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital North Nazimabad, Midciti Hospital and serves as the Chairperson of the Haemophilia Welfare Society, Karachi. She was previously associated with the National Institute of Blood Disease and Bone Marrow Transplantation (NIBD) since its inception where she served in various roles such as Associate Professor, Consultant Haematologist, Head of Blood Bank, Clinical Director and lastly as the Medical Director before she resigned. She was also a part of NIBD’s Bone Marrow Transplantation team and performed numerous Allogenic and Autologous transplants with Dr.Tahir Shamsi for benign and malignant disorders. Dr. Borhany is a passionate researcher with more than 60 publications and about 120 abstracts in both national and international journals. Her research is a synthesis of her involvement in treating patients with Leukaemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Haemophilia, Thalassemia, bleeding disorders and various other areas of Haematology.
