Dr. Tahir Manzoor Lone is a dedicated Medical Oncologist currently serving at the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Muzaffarabad. He is the first qualified Medical Oncologist from Azad Jammu & Kashmir, committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate cancer care to his patients.
Dr. Lone completed his MBBS from Nishtar Medical College, Multan, and obtained his FCPS in Medical Oncology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan after completing postgraduate training at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi. He later undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Oncology at University College London Hospital (UCLH), gaining valuable experience in advanced cancer therapies and international best practices.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lone serves as the Focal Person for Kashmir Institute of Nuclear Medicine Oncology and Radiotherapy (KINOR) and is an active member of the AJ&K Government Cancer Committee for Cancer Policy. His efforts are focused on improving cancer services, policy development, and patient access across the region.
Known for his patient-centered approach, Dr. Lone takes time to guide each individual through their diagnosis and treatment with empathy and clarity. His areas of expertise include solid tumors, leukemias, targeted therapies, and multidisciplinary cancer management.
Dr. Lone continues to participate in medical education and research, aiming to enhance oncology training and service delivery in Azad Kashmir.
